Durham of Oswego, Oregon Territory and T. Metcalf, Superintendent of Public Works for the Hawaiian government, February 19, 1852, for delivery of lumber by Durham; letter from George H. Durham (grandson of Albert) to Helen Platt (great-granddaughter of Albert), 1916 May 16, to accompany the 1852 and 1854 letters; and a clipping from the newspaper Oswego Review, 1959 May 28, discussing a Durham family reunion in Lake Oswego.

Thomas R. Metcalf taught British and Indian history at U.C. Berkeley. Thomas R. Metcalf was born on May 31, 1934 in New York. He was educated at Amherst College, Cambridge University and Harvard University. He has spent most of his teaching career at U.C. Berkeley, where he joined the History Department faculty in 1962.
